Pier and Chiara Palumbo are AIS-certified sommeliers from the Langhe who spent time in California, including at Gary Farrell winery in Sonoma, before coming home to Alba. OneontheHill is what they built when they returned: a team of certified sommeliers guiding private and small-group tours through Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero, Monferrato, and Alta Langa, alongside a wine club that ships small-production Piedmont estates directly to members.
The team is the credential. Every guide on the roster is a certified sommelier, and reviews are consistent across all of them: Pier, Nik, Riste, Nicola. The name on your booking doesn't change the quality of the day. Guests describe their experiences the same way: winemakers who come out to meet them personally, private areas of cellars and vineyards not on the standard visit, and wine shipping handled so they don't have to think about getting bottles home.
The operation's Wine Club maintains ongoing relationships with the small estates they visit, giving members a way to keep connecting with the region's wines long after the tour ends.
OneontheHill's winery network is built through years of direct relationships with small Piedmont estates. The producers their guests visit are chosen for quality and access, not profile.
