Private Wine Guide · Tuscany, Italy
Gabriele has been working in wine for fifteen years, first as a sommelier, then as a WSET Certified Educator and Head of Education at Wine School Italia. He has held that qualification since 2018. Lucia, his co-founder, is a WSET Level 3 with a Master's in Archaeology, which brings a layer of historical and cultural context to the estates they visit that most wine guides can't match.
Together they run Tuscany Uncorked, the touring arm of Wine School Italia, focused on private and small-group visits to biodynamic family estates in Chianti, Bolgheri, and Carmignano. Groups are capped at eight. The estates they work with are chosen for their farming ethics as much as their wine: producers who work by hand, without large-scale commercial operations, and who receive guests through relationships rather than booking platforms. Carmignano is worth noting specifically: one of Tuscany's oldest and least-visited wine zones.
Gabriele and Lucia select producers based on quality, farming ethics, and the kind of welcome that comes from personal relationships. The estates on their itineraries are family-run operations, most of them biodynamic, that don't appear on standard Tuscany wine tour routes.
