Luiz began his professional life as a lawyer before wine took over entirely. He traveled the major European regions, from Champagne and Burgundy through Barolo, Porto, and Jerez, before becoming Chef Sommelier at a large Paris wine importer in 2011. He settled in Paris in 2014 and earned his WSET Diploma from the London School of Wine and Spirits in 2015. He now judges at the International Wine Challenge in London and the Concours des Grands Vins de France in Mâcon, contributes to wine magazines, and works as a WSET examiner.
From Paris, he runs day tours to three regions: Champagne, North Burgundy (Chablis), and Loire Valley. The private format is the right choice for guests who want the day built around their own knowledge and interests.

The family growers worth visiting in Champagne, Chablis, and the Loire rarely receive general visitors. Luiz reaches them through more than a decade of working relationships built as a sommelier and wine judge, not through booking platforms.

  • Family grower Champagnes in Reims, Épernay, and the Côte des Blancs, where the winemaker shows the cellar rather than a tasting room host; at least two producers per day with a minimum of six Champagnes tasted.
  • The village of Hautvillers, where Dom Pérignon is buried, included as a named heritage stop on Champagne day tours.
  • Small-production Chablis domaines and surrounding North Burgundy appellations, reached on day tours from Paris combining lesser-known producers with more recognized names.
  • Sancerre producers in the Loire Valley, with regional cheese pairings arranged for the visit.
  • Hotel pick-up in central Paris for private tours; small-group tours depart from a fixed Paris meeting point.
Tours are private or small-group, with the private format allowing the day to be shaped around a guest's interests and wine knowledge. All tours depart from Paris and run approximately ten hours. Guides in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian.
