Authentica Tours was founded in 2008 by Nicolas Guidard, and Emmanuel Castro joined him in 2011. They have been guiding in Beaune ever since. The guide team is made up of specialists in Burgundy and its wines: certified sommeliers, WSET Level 3 and 4 holders, oenologists, and working winemakers. Private tours allow the day to be built entirely around a group's wine interests and knowledge level.
Tours cover the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune across their full span of prestige appellations, with visits to carefully selected family estates, well-known houses, and confidential estates.
The estates worth visiting in Burgundy range from well-known houses to small family cellars, and Authentica's guide team has been choosing them carefully since 2008.
- Premier Cru and Grand Cru estates across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, with private tastings and winemaker meetings arranged by the guide team.
- Confidential estates, selected by the sommeliers, oenologists, and winemakers on the team.
- The full Route des Grands Crus from Gevrey-Chambertin to Chassagne-Montrachet, with the Grand Cru vineyards along the way explained by a credentialed guide.
- Lunch at the estate, with a seasonal Burgundian menu and food and wine pairings.
- Wine purchases and shipping coordinated from the cellar door.
Private tours are built around what the guest wants to taste and at what depth. Small-group tours (eight guests maximum) are also available. All formats depart from the guest's hotel in Beaune or Dijon and run from half-day to multi-day programs with overnight stays in Burgundy.
