Champagne
Private Wine Guide · Champagne, France
Luiz began his professional life as a lawyer before wine took over entirely. He traveled the major European regions, from Champagne and Burgundy through Barolo, Porto, and Jerez, before becoming Chef Sommelier at a large Paris wine importer in 2011. He settled in Paris in 2014 and earned his WSET Diploma from the London School of Wine and Spirits in 2015. He now judges at the International Wine Challenge in London and the Concours des Grands Vins de France in Mâcon, contributes to wine magazines, and works as a WSET examiner.
From Paris, he runs day tours to three regions: Champagne, North Burgundy (Chablis), and Loire Valley. The private format is the right choice for guests who want the day built around their own knowledge and interests.
The family growers worth visiting in Champagne, Chablis, and the Loire rarely receive general visitors. Luiz reaches them through more than a decade of working relationships built as a sommelier and wine judge, not through booking platforms.
