Private Wine Guides in Bordeaux

Bordeaux runs at a different scale than Burgundy: bigger estates, bigger production, and a market built around en primeur and the classification system. The most famous names are known to everyone and accessible to almost no one; the top growths receive far fewer casual visitors than their reputation suggests. Beyond them are the right-bank producers of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol working tiny parcels by hand, and further out, Graves and the sweet-wine estates of Sauternes, largely passed over by the tour circuit. The guides listed below work across all of it and know which appointments are worth making.
